April -Weaving with Supplemental Warps

April 12 and 13 we had a workshop with Deb Essen on Weaving with Supplemental Warps without a second back beam. Spindles & Flyers Guild in Berkeley helped arrange the workshop, which was organized with two other guilds, Del Oro Spinners and Weavers and Carmel Crafts Guild, both holding workshops after ours. See photos below of Deb’s weaving and our “show and tell” at the conclusion of the workshop.

Our instructor Deb’s samples, including a variety of weaves possible with supplemental warps:

An updated version of her book, Easy Weaving with Supplemental Warps, is also available through Amazon or other sources, such as the Eugene Textile Center.

To see a video of her slides with captions, visit the youtube site below. As well as designers and samples of their work, there are views of the Shetlands and mainland and lots of sheep. You can use your keyboard to advance manually or let each slide play for a few seconds. Note: you may have to adjust the slider to the beginning of the slideshow.
